First, the model contains a simple type of preprogramming. The inverse kinematics of the given motion is computed only once and thus it requires only minimum computation time.    Second, to a first approximation, the model supports the notion that the decision and closed loop control levels can detach themselves from the details of the motion once the required parameters of the motion are set. Third, it supports the ''open loop hypothesis'' by providing an explanation for fast open loop computations.    It is expected that this study will provide a realistic starting point for the study of the development of motor control in
