Let \(\sum u_ n\) be an infinite seies with \(\{s_ n\}\) as the sequence of partial sums. Let \((p_ n)\) be a sequence of constants real or complex such that \(P_ n=p_ 0+p_ 1+...+p_ n\neq 0\) (n\(\geq 0)\), \(P_ n=p_ n=0\) \((n<0)\). Then \(\sigma_ n=1/p_ n\sum^{n}_{k=0}p_{n-k}s_ k=1/p_ n\sum^{n}_{k=0}p_{n- k\quad}u_ k\) (n\(\geq 0)\), \(\sigma_{-1}=o(1.1)\) is called the (N,p) means of the sequence \((s_ n)\). The authors generalize the result of \textit{S. Bernstein} [Sur la convergence absoluted des series trigonometriques, comptes Rendus de 1' Academic de Sciences de Paris 158, 1661-1664] and establish a particular result for \((N,1/n+1)\) summability, taking weaker hypothesis than lip \(\alpha\) and extend this theorem to the \(| N_{\beta}|\) summability. The condition that \(\sum^{\infty}_{1}(1/n)\omega (1/n)\) is convergent in the theorem of \textit{S. M. Shah} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 13, 244-250 (1962; Zbl 0106.278)] is replaced by the convergence of \(\sum^{\infty}_{n=1}n^{- 1/2}\omega (1/n)1/(\log n)^{\beta}\) \((\beta >0)\).
