A division problem in the space of entire functions of exponential type (English)
The author presents a systematic approach to division problems which is connected with the investigation of linear partial differential operators with constant coefficients. Let us formulate the main result of this article. Let \(G\) be a bounded convex domain of \(\mathbb{C}^ n\) which is a polyhedron or smooth of Hölder class \(C^{1,\lambda}\), \(0 < \lambda \leq 1\), or which is a Cartesian product of such domains. Let \(A\) be the Frechet space of all analytic functions on \(G\) with some estimate of the growth. If \(F(z) = \sum_{\alpha} a_ \alpha z^ \alpha\) is an entire function with given condition of its growth then the following result takes place. Theorem. The following assertions are equivalent: (i) \(L_ F : A \to A\) is surjective, where \(L_ F(f) = \sum a_ \alpha f^{(\alpha)}\) is a continuous linear differential operator of infinite order. (ii) \(FA'\) is a closed subspace of \(A'\) where \(A'\) is the dual space of \(A\) by the Fourier-Borel transform. (iii) Whenever \(g \in A'\) and \(g/F\) is entire then \(g/F \in A'\).
