Let \(M\) be a Harish-Chandra module associated to a finite length, admissible representation of a real reductive Lie group \(G_0\). Suppose that \({\mathfrak p}\) is a parabolic subalgebra of the complexified Lie algebra of \(G_0\) and let \({\mathfrak n} \subset {\mathfrak p}\) be the nil radical of \({\mathfrak p}\). In this paper it is shown that, if \({\mathfrak p}\) has a real Levi factor, after conjugation by an element of \(G_0\), the \({\mathfrak n}\)-homology groups of the minimal globalization of \(M\) are, in a natural way, the minimal globalizations of the \({ \mathfrak n}\)-homology groups of \(M\). Comparison theorems of this type are essential in the proof of generalized versions of the Patterson conjecture [\textit{U. Bunke} and \textit{M. Olbrich}, J. Reine Angew. Math. 467, 199-219 (1995; Zbl 0851.22012)]. A special case of this theorem, which was sufficient for their needs, has been proven by Bunke and Olbrich in loc. cit. They later even extended their work but the present paper contains the most general comparison theorem of this type.
