Spaces of integrable functions with respect to vector measures of convex range and factorization of operators from \(L_p\)-spaces. (English)
    16 September 2004
The author obtains factorization theorems for continuous linear operators \(T: L_p(\mu)\to X\), where \(\mu\) is a finite positive measure and \(X\) a Banach space. In particular, conditions are given that guarantee factorization through \(L_1(0,1)\) (Theorem 9) or through a Hilbert space (Corollary 11). The main tool used is the theory of integration of scalar functions with respect to vector measures, which was created by \textit{R. G. Bartle, N. Dunford} and \textit{J. Schwartz} [Can. J. Math. 7, 289--305 (1955; Zbl 0068.09301)], and studied by \textit{D. R. Lewis} [Pac. J. Math. 33, 157--165 (1970; Zbl 0195.14303)] and [\textit{I. Kluvanek} and \textit{G. Knowles}, Vector measures and control systems (Math. Studies 20, North-Holland, Amsterdam) (1976; Zbl 0316.46043)].
