Das Buch wird von besonderem Interesse f\u00fcr ernste Studenten der Robotik sein, aber auch f\u00fcr den akademischen Lehrer, der hier eine systematische Darstellung des Lehrstoffes an Stelle von durchgerechneten Einzelf\u00e4llen finden wird, und ebenso auch den Ingenieur anspricht, f\u00fcr den viele praktische Resultate und Anwendungen klar dargestellt werden. F\u00fcr den Forscher werden viele offene Fragen identifiziert und durch relevante Literaturangaben leichter zug\u00e4nglich gemacht. Eine vollst\u00e4ndige Liste von westlichen Publikationen, offenen Problemen und m\u00f6gliche Anwendungsarchitekturen findet man unter: \\url{http://www-sop.inria.fr/coprin/equipe/merlet/merlet.eng.html}.   Nach kurzer historischen Einf\u00fchrung werden im zweiten Kapitel strukturelle Synthese und Architekturen eingef\u00fchrt, die verschiedenen parallelen Roboter beschreiben. Inverse Kinematik f\u00fchrt zur Bestimmung der Gelenkskoordinaten aus vorgegebener Position der Endpunkte (Kapitel 3), und direkte Kinematik erlaubt die Berechnung der Endpositionen aus den dynamischen Gleichungen f\u00fcr die Gelenkskoordinaten (Kapitel 4). Die Analyse der Geschwindigkeiten und Beschleunigungen sind zur Bestimmung der Endpositionengrenzen von Bedeutung. Singul\u00e4re Konfigurationen werden im 6. Kapitel behandelt, wo der parallele Roboter zwar mobil ist, die Bewegungsgleichungen aber Singularit\u00e4ten aufweisen. Mehrere konkrete Beispiele werden vorgestellt. Im Kapitel 7 wird der Arbeitsraum eines parallelen Roboters bestimmt, wenn gewisse Bewegungsbeschr\u00e4nkungen f\u00fcr die Gelenkskoordinaten vorliegen. Die Bestimmung des Arbeitsr\u00e4umes ist f\u00fcr die Bewegungsplanung von grosser Bedeutung. Durch eine statische Analyse (Kapitel 8) lassen sich die Kr\u00e4fte, die an den Gelenken wirken, berechnen, was f\u00fcr die Berechnung der Steifigkeit des Mechanismus von Wichtigkeit ist. Im 9. Kapitel werden die dynamischen Gleichungen f\u00fcr parallele Roboter behandelt, d.h. es werden die Kr\u00e4fte bestimmt, die zu gew\u00fcnschten Endpunktbeschleunigungen f\u00fchren. Das 10. Kapitel ist der Kalibrierung eines parallelen Roboters gewidmet. Der Text des Buches schliesst mit der Diskussion der Roboterplanung (Kapitel 11). Es f\u00e4llt auf, dass dem Problem der Bewegungskontrolle eines parallelen Roboters kein eigenes Kapitel gewidmet wird. Dieses Problem wird jedoch in den verschiedenen Kapiteln von verschiedenen Gesichtspunkten her beleuchtet. Da der Autor an einigen Stellen ``Intervall Analyse'' als mathematisches Werkzeug benutzt, und wohl mit Recht annimmt, dass nicht jeder Leser mit dieser Materie vertraut sein wind, hat er im Anhang eine kurze Zusammenfassung (\\(\\sim 10\\) Seiten) als eine Studienhilfe beigef\u00fcgt.   Das Buch wird sicher die Kenntnisse \u00fcber parallele Roboter vertiefen und zu neuer Forschung anregen. Unbeantwortet bleibt die Frage nach dem heutigen Stand der Roboterforschung in Russland und im asiatischen
