Recovery-based error estimator for the discontinuous Galerkin method for nonlinear scalar conservation laws in one space dimension (English)
In this interesting work, the author considers a nonlinear scalar conservation law in dimension one, involving a nonlinearity \(f\), the so-called nonlinear flux function. He proposes a discontinuous Galerkin method, and an a posteriori error estimator which is proven to be asymptotically exact, provided a certain assumption on the derivative of the flux is fulfilled. Numerical results are presented which verify the theoretical results and indicate that the theoretical constraint posed on the flux function could be artificial.
