The paper is devoted to the problem of characterizing an amenable algebraic action of discrete quantum groups on \(C^*\)-algebras: `` If there exists an invariant state on a \(C^*\)-algebra under an action of a discrete quantum group, then is this quantum group amenable?''. The dual to a compact quantum group is called a \textit{discrete} one. An action of a discrete quantum group \(\hat{\mathbb G}\) on a \(C^*\)-algebra \(A\) is a non-degenerate *-bi-homomorphism to the matrix algebra \(\rho : A \to \mathfrak M(c_0(\hat{\mathbb G}) \otimes A))\) (Definition 3.1), where \(c_0(\hat{G})\) is the algebra of virtual continuous functions on the quantum group \(\hat{\mathbb G}\) vanishing at infinity. It is amenable if the action of the representation ring \(R(\mathrm{Irr}(G))\) (considered as the canonical fusion algebra) on the \(C^*\)-algebra \(A\) is amenable (Theorem 2.8). The main result of the paper is Theorem 4.7 that a discrete quantum group is amenable, if and only if there exists an FA-invariant state under an fusion algebraic (FA)-amenable action (Definition 3.4).
