paper describes the development of a new technique for the study of the structure of rings of continuous functions on spaces with \\(p\\)-adic group action, based on integration along the orbits. This new technique for the study of \\(p\\)-adic groups of transformations is based on various types of algebraic characterisations of zero-dimensional mappings. First of all, the author has defined the \\(p\\)-adic norm of each element of the \\(p\\)-adic group \\(\\mathbb Z_p\\) and shown that the group \\(\\mathbb Z_p\\) of \\(p\\)-adic integers is compact with respect to the topology defined by the \\(p\\)-adic norm. The author uses both the structures `\\(p\\)-adic group' and `\\(p\\)-adic ring' of \\(\\mathbb Z_p\\) in his study and shows that the group of automorphisms of \\(\\mathbb Z_p\\) is isomorphic to the group of units \\((\\mathbb Z_p)^\\times\\) of the ring \\(\\mathbb Z_p\\).NEWLINENEWLINEThe author defines convolution of functions on \\(\\mathbb Z_p\\)-spaces using an invariant integration with the help of the Haar measure on the compact group \\(\\mathbb Z_p\\) and studies some properties of this convolution, mostly in connection with the characters of the group \\(\\mathbb Z_p\\). The author shows that the convolution with a fixed character \\(\\psi\\) is a projection of \\(C(X)\\) onto the space of eigenvectors of the character \\(\\psi\\), where the action on functions is defined by the relation \\(\\tau f(x)=f(\\tau x)\\) for \\(f\\in C(X)\\), \\(\\tau\\in\\mathbb Z_p\\), \\(x\\in X\\). The author proves a decomposition theorem which states that any function \\(f\\in C(X)\\) of period \\(\\leq p^m\\) can be decomposed uniquely into the sum of the convolution of \\(f\\) with some characters of \\(\\mathbb Z_p\\) (here \\(X\\) is a \\(\\mathbb Z_p\\)-space).NEWLINENEWLINELastly, the author considers the integral closure of \\(C(X/G)\\) in \\(C(X)\\) for an action of a \\(p\\)-adic group \\(G\\) on a space \\(X\\) and finds a number of important dense subsets of \\(C(X)\\);
