Lascar} and \\textit{S. Shelah} showed in [Bull. Lond. Math. Soc. 25, No. 2, 125--131 (1993; Zbl 0799.20002)], that saturated models have the small index property with respect to the set topology. Nurkhaidarov and Shochat prove a series of related results about saturated and boundedly saturated models of PA that are analogs of corresponding results for automorphism groups of countable recursively saturated models of PA with the point topology.NEWLINENEWLINEFor a model \\(M\\) of cardinality \\(\\lambda\\), \\(\\mathrm{Aut}^\\lambda(M)\\) is the automorphism group of \\(M\\) with the set topology. One of the main result is an analog of Kaye's theorem from \\textit{R. Kaye} [in: Automorphisms of first-order structures. Oxford: Clarendon Press. 293--312 (1994; Zbl 0824.03015)]: \\(H\\) is a closed normal subgroup of \\(\\mathrm{Aut}^\\lambda(M)\\) if and only if \\(H\\) is a pointwise stabilizer of an invariant cut of \\(M\\). As a corollary, the authors prove that if \\(M\\) and \\(N\\) are saturated models of PA, \\(M\\) is a model of true arithmetic, and \\(N\\) is not, then \\(\\mathrm{Aut}(M)\\) and \\(\\mathrm{Aut}(N)\\) are not isomorphic (as abstract groups). Other results include variants of the small index property for boundedly and short saturated models, and an analog of Kaye's theorem for those models.
