Optimal control for the conformal Laplacian obstacle problem (Q6192942)

In this paper, geometric obstacle problems and optimal control problems are studied in in the general control theory framework of \textit{ H. Yamabe}, [Osaka Math. J. 12, No. 1, 21--37 (1960; Zbl. 0096.37201)] The authors consider an optimal control problem associated to the conformal Laplacian obstacle problem on closed Riemannian manifolds of dimension \(n \ge 3\). They show that when the Yamabe invariant of the Riemannian manifold is positive, then the optimal controls are equal to their associated optimal states and there exists a smooth optimal control which induces a conformal metric with constant scalar curvature.
