A (unital) \\(E_{k}\\)-algebra \\(\\boldsymbol{R}\\)\\ in \\textsf{S}\\ is an object \\(R\\)\\ in \\textsf{S}\\ rigged with maps\\N\\[\\N\\mathcal{C}_{k}\\left( n\\right) \\times R^{\\otimes n}\\rightarrow R\\N\\]\\Nabiding by unit, associativity, and equivariance axioms, where \\(\\times \\)\\ denotes the copowering over simplicial sets and \\(\\otimes\\)\\ denotes the monoidal product on \\textsf{S}. Cell attachments for \\(E_{k}\\)-algebras are modelled after cell attachments for topological spaces. There are homology groups \\(H_{\\ast}^{E_{k}-}\\left( \\boldsymbol{R}\\right) \\)\\ which always give a lower bound on the number of cells in a cellular approximation, and under certain asuumptions on both \\textsf{S}\\ and \\(\\boldsymbol{R}\\)\\ this bound may be realized. These \\(E_{k}\\)-homology groups are defined as the homology groups of an object \\(Q_{\\mathbb{L}}^{E_{k}}\\left( \\boldsymbol{R}\\right) \\)\\ of derived \\(E_{k}\\)-indecomposables of \\(\\boldsymbol{R}\\), constructed to satisfy \\(Q_{\\mathbb{L}}^{E_{k}}\\left( F^{E_{k}}\\left( X\\right) \\right) \\simeq X_{+}\\)\\ and preserve homotopy colimits. The \\(E_{k}\\)-indecomposables may be thought of as measuring generators, relations, syzygies, etc. for \\(\\boldsymbol{R}\\)\\ as an \\(E_{k}\\)-algebra and are obtained by deriving the construction which takes the quotient of \\(\\boldsymbol{R}\\)\\ by the sub-object obtained by applying all possible operations of \\(E_{k}\\)\\ to \\(\\boldsymbol{R}\\)\\ of arity at least 2.\\N\\NThe main text of the book divides into four parts, namely, Part I (Chapter 2-Chapter 6), Part II (Chapter 7-Chapter 11), Part III (Chapter 12-Chapter 16) and Part IV (Chapter 17-Chapter 20). Part I addresses the category of algebras over a sifted monad on a category \\textsf{S}, most of which arise from operads. This part aims at the definitions of indecomposables, cell attachments and CW-algebras. Part II adds homotopy-theoretic considerations to the theory developed in Part I, where the main construction of interest is the functor of derived \\(T\\)-indecomposables \\(Q_{\\mathbb{L}}^{T}\\) and the main technical tools are simplicial formulae for computing various derived functors, spectral sequences for computing with filtered objects, a Hurewicz theorem for \\(\\mathcal{O}\\)-homology and a cellular approximation theorem for \\(\\mathcal{O}\\)-algebras. Part III applies the results of Part I and Part II to \\(E_{k}\\)-algebras, developing a slew of tools suitable to this setting, most importantly a result relating \\(Q_{\\mathbb{L}}^{E_{k}}\\)\\ to \\(k\\)-fold bar construction. Part IV use the techniques developed in the previous three parts to establish results related to homological stability in the setting of \\(E_{k}\\)-algebras arising from monoidal groupoids, where it is shown that the derived \\(E_{1}\\)-indecomposables can be computed in terms of a semi-simplicial set of splittings, describing the relationship to Koszul duality and giving a generic homological stability results for both constant and local coefficients.\\N\\NThe synopsis of the book goes as follows:\\N\\N\\begin{itemize}\\N\\item[Chapter 2] discusses axioms on a category \\textsf{S}\\ necessary for a good theory of algebras over a sifted monad.\\N\\N\\item[Chapter 3] explains the theory of algebras over a monad on \\(\\mathsf{C} \\)\\ preserving sifted colimits.\\N\\N\\item[Chapter 4] shows that the monad associated to an operad always preserves sifted colimits.\\N\\N\\item[Chapter 5] is concerned with filtered objects in \\(\\mathsf{C}\\)\\ as well as filtered \\(\\mathcal{O}\\)-algebras, presenting various constructions related to them.\\N\\N\\item[Chapter 6] explains how to attach a \\(T\\)-algebra cell to a \\(T\\)-algebra. When the monad comes from an operad \\(\\mathcal{O}\\), the authors describe a canonical filtration on a cell attachment. They define cellular and CW \\(\\mathcal{O}\\)-algebras.\\N\\N\\item[Chapter 7] requiring the category \\textsf{S}\\ to be a model category, discussing model categorical axioms necessary for a good homotopy theory of algebras over a sifted monad.\\N\\N\\item[Chapter 8] is concerned with the interaction of homotopy theory with the theory of monads of Chapter 3, explaining how to obtain a model structure on the category of algebras over a monad. Simplicial formulae are given to make the derived functors computable.\\N\\N\\item[Chapter 9] verifies the axioms of \\S 8.1 in the case of monads \\(T:\\mathsf{C}\\rightarrow\\mathsf{C}\\)\\ arising from an operad \\(\\mathcal{O}\\)\\ in \\(\\mathsf{C}\\)\\ as discussed in Chapter 4.\\N\\N\\item[Chapter 10] is concerned with the filtrations of Chapter 5 from a homotopical point of view, giving the construction of their attendant spectral sequences.\\N\\N\\item[Chapter 11] establishes Hurewicz theorems for \\(\\mathcal{O}\\)-homology (\\S 11.2 and \\S 11.3), culminating in Corollary 11.14 which identifies, under certain conditions, the first non-trivial \\(\\mathcal{O}\\)-homology group in terms of the corresponding ordinary homology group. \\S 11.4 establishes conditions under which \\(\\mathcal{O}\\)-homology can be used to detect weak homotopy equivalences. \\S 11.5 develops a theory of (minimal) CW-approximations, which makes use of the ordinary Hurewicz theorem comparing homology and homotopy groups.\\N\\N\\item[Chapter 12] specializes the theory of Parts I and II to the monad associated to the little \\(k\\)-cubes operad (\\S 12.1). \\S 12.2 addresses some technical points of the theory of \\(E_{1}\\)-modules over \\(E_{k}\\)-algebras.\\N\\N\\item[Chapter 13] describes another way of computing the derived indecomposables to the particular case that \\(T=E_{k}\\)\\ is the non-unital little \\(k\\)-cubes\\ monad, besides the two ways already discussed in \\S 8.2. It results in the \\(k\\)-fold iterated bar construction.\\N\\N\\item[Chapter 14] explains under which circumstances vanishing lines for \\(E_{k-1}\\)-homology imply vanishing lines for \\(E_{k+1}\\)-homology (transferring down) or \\(E_{k}\\)-homology (transferring up). Transferring up uses the bar construction of the previous chapter, while transferring down is the first application of the theory of \\(E_{k}\\)-cells.\\N\\N\\item[Chapter 15] compares \\(H_{\\ast,\\ast}^{E_{k}-}\\left( \\boldsymbol{S} ,\\boldsymbol{R}\\right) \\)\\ (which measures the \\(E_{k}\\)-algebra cells necessary to construct \\(\\boldsymbol{S}\\)\\ from \\(\\boldsymbol{R}\\)) with \\(H_{\\ast,\\ast }^{\\boldsymbol{R}}\\left( \\overline{\\boldsymbol{S}}\\right) \\)\\ (which measures \\(\\overline{\\boldsymbol{R}}\\)-module cells necessary to construct \\(\\overline {\\boldsymbol{S}}\\)).\\N\\N\\item[Chapter 16] makes use of computations of Cohen, Lada and May [\\textit{F. R. Cohen} et al., The homology of iterated loop spaces. Springer, Cham (1976; Zbl 0334.55009), Part III] to describe the homology of free unital \\(E_{k}\\)-algebras in the case that \\(\\mathsf{G}\\)\\ is a discrete symmetric monoidal groupoid, obtaining a description of the homology of an \\(E_{k}\\)-cell attachment (\\S 16.4). Spectral sequences and operations on them are investigated in \\S 16.5 and \\S 16.6.\\N\\N\\item[Chapter 17] explains the basic application of the theory developed in this book to \\(E_{k}\\)-algebras arising as the classifying space of a monoidal groupoid.\\N\\N\\item[Chapter 18] deduces a generic homological stability result based on the theory developed in this book.\\N\\N\\item[Chapter 19] explains how to obtain results for local coefficients analogous to the generic homological stability results obtained in the previous chapter.\\N\\N\\item[Chapter 20] specializes to \\textsf{S}\\(=\\mathsf{sMod}_{\\boldsymbol{k}} \\)\\ for a commutative ring \\(\\boldsymbol{k}\\)\\ and \\(\\mathsf{C}=\\mathsf{sMod} _{\\boldsymbol{k}}^{\\mathsf{G}}\\)\\ for an Artinian monoidal category \\(\\mathsf{G}\\). The goal is to explain how, for a quadratic algebra, the standard connectivity estimate is equivalent to this algebra having the Koszul property.\\N\\end{itemize}","type":"string"},"datatype":"string"},"type":"statement","id":"Q6903787$D3CA3596-9BFE-4BBE-B9A2-DE766CD02D66","rank":"normal"}],"P1447":[{"mainsnak":{"snaktype":"value","property":"P1447","hash":"50a4d88aaef452ee91d36bc895e7495d5ed6f713","datavalue":{"value":{"entity-type":"item","numeric-id":195143,"id":"Q195143"},"type":"wikibase-entityid"},"datatype":"wikibase-item"},"type":"statement","id":"Q6903787$0B10E66A-6B1B-4064-8CDA-ECAB482E5788","rank":"normal"}],"P226":[{"mainsnak":{"snaktype":"value","property":"P226","hash":"91e2f9c51b94aeb7dbb014afdb27e9b4843af449","datavalue":{"value":"57-02","type":"string"},"datatype":"external-id"},"type":"statement","id":"Q6903787$6F689775-099A-4153-96DC-29A2E2E5879A","rank":"normal"},{"mainsnak":{"snaktype":"value","property":"P226","hash":"99f3f1af0308a32d2e89f3531e3e2a47c5453638","datavalue":{"value":"57R90","type":"string"},"datatype":"external-id"},"type":"statement","id":"Q6903787$0FBBE807-0019-470E-BB37-307DED1BBB14","rank":"normal"},{"mainsnak":{"snaktype":"value","property":"P226","hash":"befe607509a93d2a536d630fd3a8e8ae944f11b0","datavalue":{"value":"18N40","type":"string"},"datatype":"external-id"},"type":"statement","id":"Q6903787$085DDB78-FF8D-484F-86BB-6496A047158D","rank":"normal"},{"mainsnak":{"snaktype":"value","property":"P226","hash":"40c10167a389b14cfe0c977f6ce9d7e37bc10339","datavalue":{"value":"55R40","type":"string"},"datatype":"external-id"},"type":"statement","id":"Q6903787$A22A2901-6143-491B-8A17-8D5FABBBE32A","rank":"normal"},{"mainsnak":{"snaktype":"value","property":"P226","hash":"0fcffa45a9a315d4f41d84082f273439b9134c19","datavalue":{"value":"55P35","type":"string"},"datatype":"external-id"},"type":"statement","id":"Q6903787$E90F3711-B771-4A41-8B91-8379F352F507","rank":"normal"},{"mainsnak":{"snaktype":"value","property":"P226","hash":"47ba2f783c088f9d4bf32d01649c35d0baf25ff7","datavalue":{"value":"55P48","type":"string"},"datatype":"external-id"},"type":"statement","id":"Q6903787$04F33771-4ECA-4748-8902-8E8544D54E24","rank":"normal"},{"mainsnak":{"snaktype":"value","property":"P226","hash":"bb6d66208aaf91df74acec1deb44e643a7be1770","datavalue":{"value":"57T30","type":"string"},"datatype":"external-id"},"type":"statement","id":"Q6903787$20DAF681-CCDE-4E07-B4B1-F7B7F48E81EB","rank":"normal"}],"P1451":[{"mainsnak":{"snaktype":"value","property":"P1451","hash":"be9f8f0c91cd1e4ebe8c945b7fda88ace4b2c213","datavalue":{"value":"8117841","type":"string"},"datatype":"external-id"},"type":"statement","id":"Q6903787$DC6E1BE2-19A4-4B98-888E-D01ED8DF263B","rank":"normal"}],"P1450":[{"mainsnak":{"snaktype":"value","property":"P1450","hash":"29a8b351b6a7a879e75822412ff0e0aec88215d5","datavalue":{"value":"\\(E_k\\)-algebras","type":"string"},"datatype":"string"},"type":"statement","id":"Q6903787$DD4C142F-F716-42AA-8E50-3FAF3565AFBC","rank":"normal"},{"mainsnak":{"snaktype":"value","property":"P1450","hash":"69f367b4f6dad256fb68b6ffb63583babaa2e8d6","datavalue":{"value":"cellular approximation","type":"string"},"datatype":"string"},"type":"statement","id":"Q6903787$3D97B57D-EF99-4DDF-B305-A923818ECF72","rank":"normal"},{"mainsnak":{"snaktype":"value","property":"P1450","hash":"76c275256f9ffbb1338d117b043f2d6d21b59b32","datavalue":{"value":"indecomposables","type":"string"},"datatype":"string"},"type":"statement","id":"Q6903787$FEB0E73C-0E45-4E0B-9A92-A1AC35B579C3","rank":"normal"},{"mainsnak":{"snaktype":"value","property":"P1450","hash":"b337133666c281c63fc6c354b303b6e297c462de","datavalue":{"value":"bar construction","type":"string"},"datatype":"string"},"type":"statement","id":"Q6903787$C29A13A2-87B6-4BF1-89AD-36EFF367E285","rank":"normal"},{"mainsnak":{"snaktype":"value","property":"P1450","hash":"27a885d059d34fce83947fe0577f9a7eb4363744","datavalue":{"value":"homological stability","type":"string"},"datatype":"string"},"type":"statement","id":"Q6903787$57F8C88F-D262-4C5D-9A18-6ABB776C5F43","rank":"normal"}],"P1460":[{"mainsnak":{"snaktype":"value","property":"P1460","hash":"57f7fea50d2ce1b39b695c4a1313582eed405e38","datavalue":{"value":{"entity-type":"item","numeric-id":5976449,"id":"Q5976449"},"type":"wikibase-entityid"},"datatype":"wikibase-item"},"type":"statement","id":"Q6903787$05459583-67CD-44FF-8E23-D51B4BF5CBED","rank":"normal"}]},"sitelinks":{"mardi":{"site":"mardi","title":"Cellular \\(E k\\)-algebras","badges":[],"url":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/wiki/Cellular_%5C(E_k%5C)-algebras"}}}}}
