A positive integer \\(n\\) is said to be \\textit{perfect} if \\(\\sigma(n)=2n\\). It is currently an open problem whether there are any odd perfect numbers (OPNs). Due to the lack of any examples, there is interest in generalizations of OPNs called \\textit{spoofs}; these are integers \\(n\\) with a factorization of the form \\(n=\\prod_{i=1}^{k}x_i^{a_i}\\), where each \\(x_i\\) is an integer, each \\(a_i\\) is a nonnegative integer, and these integers satisfy the equality\\N\\[\\N\\prod_{i=1}^{k}\\frac{x_i^{a_i+1}-1}{x_i-1} = 2 n.\\N\\]\\NIf the \\(x_i\\) are positive, prime, and relatively prime to each other, then the equality \\(\\sigma(n)=2n\\) actually holds; without those hypotheses, the equality \\(\\sigma(n)=2n\\) is only being spoofed. The first spoof was given by Descartes in 1638, and the next example was constructed by \\textit{J. Voight} [in: MASS selecta: teaching and learning advanced undergraduate mathematics. Providence, RI: American Mathematical Society (AMS). 293--300 (2003; Zbl 1083.11008)]. Infinite families of spoofs have subsequently been found.\\N\\NIn the paper under review, a related concept is introduced. A \\textit{spoof of the second kind} is defined to be a positive integer \\(n\\) with a factorization \\(n=mx\\), with \\(m\\) and \\(x\\) both positive integers satisfying \\(\\sigma(m)(x^2+x+1)=2mx\\). When \\(x\\) is both prime and relatively prime to \\(m\\), then one obtains the equality \\(\\sigma(mx^2)=2mx\\) (and consequently \\(n\\) is not perfect); without those hypotheses, that equality is only being spoofed.\\N\\NGeneralizing further, by spoofing \\(\\sigma(mx^2)=\\ell mx\\) for integers \\(2\\leq \\ell \\leq 100\\), the author found three odd solutions with \\(m\\leq 10^8\\) and with \\(x\\) both prime and relatively prime to \\(m\\); they are\\N\\[\\N(m,x,\\ell)=(11115,7,16),(1521,61,97),(147537,61,98).\\N\\]\\NOther solutions satisfying fewer restrictions were also found.","type":"string"},"datatype":"string"},"type":"statement","id":"Q6941708$E42BFF78-8DAC-41EA-BAAC-878408F60BC5","rank":"normal"}],"P1447":[{"mainsnak":{"snaktype":"value","property":"P1447","hash":"e40863d254322a6c48f02510d1bbe10a9f12db94","datavalue":{"value":{"entity-type":"item","numeric-id":376028,"id":"Q376028"},"type":"wikibase-entityid"},"datatype":"wikibase-item"},"type":"statement","id":"Q6941708$855D532F-74A9-466F-9390-CB89B253F2EA","rank":"normal"}],"P226":[{"mainsnak":{"snaktype":"value","property":"P226","hash":"350ad9e3cb57303f41763f7e3b29497fcb98dda4","datavalue":{"value":"11A25","type":"string"},"datatype":"external-id"},"type":"statement","id":"Q6941708$44814863-08CB-4877-B084-4B98E4A78C3F","rank":"normal"}],"P1451":[{"mainsnak":{"snaktype":"value","property":"P1451","hash":"f5277662a1b37d7c2af94d63bd257bfa1613d7bb","datavalue":{"value":"8081408","type":"string"},"datatype":"external-id"},"type":"statement","id":"Q6941708$C833FF0A-920E-45E0-83AF-14FD12B51119","rank":"normal"}],"P1450":[{"mainsnak":{"snaktype":"value","property":"P1450","hash":"a280cd98cccc25dbf69e007c92c1c409d65d4325","datavalue":{"value":"odd perfect number","type":"string"},"datatype":"string"},"type":"statement","id":"Q6941708$939385F8-C538-4444-B6AD-3CD56F611855","rank":"normal"},{"mainsnak":{"snaktype":"value","property":"P1450","hash":"b5fdb5b10a268a3eede3d5887aba8f0b06d03a39","datavalue":{"value":"spoof","type":"string"},"datatype":"string"},"type":"statement","id":"Q6941708$7FCABB45-DE3B-401A-9035-11D52EBE219C","rank":"normal"}],"P1460":[{"mainsnak":{"snaktype":"value","property":"P1460","hash":"57f7fea50d2ce1b39b695c4a1313582eed405e38","datavalue":{"value":{"entity-type":"item","numeric-id":5976449,"id":"Q5976449"},"type":"wikibase-entityid"},"datatype":"wikibase-item"},"type":"statement","id":"Q6941708$97C0EE13-0D6F-4E66-ACF3-59B765E96BE0","rank":"normal"}],"P223":[{"mainsnak":{"snaktype":"value","property":"P223","hash":"e8e555c5cb2158e3d5b346529fb977418a24bf4e","datavalue":{"value":{"entity-type":"item","numeric-id":2071685,"id":"Q2071685"},"type":"wikibase-entityid"},"datatype":"wikibase-item"},"type":"statement","id":"Q6941708$3C737655-9841-4355-B76F-2C45480B12F8","rank":"normal"},{"mainsnak":{"snaktype":"value","property":"P223","hash":"fd8ae217fddaf918b3bd6a37399a729462a07fa5","datavalue":{"value":{"entity-type":"item","numeric-id":1052382,"id":"Q1052382"},"type":"wikibase-entityid"},"datatype":"wikibase-item"},"type":"statement","id":"Q6941708$68F8E9C1-4C7D-4A62-A280-74E1ECC4A7EA","rank":"normal"},{"mainsnak":{"snaktype":"value","property":"P223","hash":"72eb8f15d5a7fab5a01c5aa5be40ecc370265e1f","datavalue":{"value":{"entity-type":"item","numeric-id":3375879,"id":"Q3375879"},"type":"wikibase-entityid"},"datatype":"wikibase-item"},"type":"statement","id":"Q6941708$99865A3E-E3B4-494F-9371-A85422D70EB9","rank":"normal"}]},"sitelinks":{"mardi":{"site":"mardi","title":"Odd spoof multiperfect numbers","badges":[],"url":"https://portal.mardi4nfdi.de/wiki/Odd_spoof_multiperfect_numbers"}}}}}
