The main purpose of the authors is to prove that the following statements are equivalent: (a) \(f\) is Kurzweil-Henstock integrable on \([a,b]\); (b) for every \(\varepsilon>0\) there exist a \(g\geq 0\), Lebesgue integrable on \([a,b]\), and \(\delta(\xi)>0\) such that \(|\sum_{| f(\xi)|>g(\xi)}f(\xi)(v-u)|<\varepsilon\) for every \(\delta\)-fine division \(D=\{[u,v],\xi\}\) of \([a,b]\); (c) there is a number \(A\) such that for every \(\varepsilon>0\) and \(\eta>0\) there are a constant \(\delta_ 0>0\) and an open set \(G\) with \(| G|<\eta\) such that \(|\sum f(\xi)(v-u)-A|<\varepsilon\) for any division \(D=\{[u,v],\xi\}\) of \([a,b]\) such that \(v-u<\delta_ 0\) and \(\xi\notin G\) and there exists \(\delta(\xi)>0\) satisfying \((\xi-\delta(\xi),\;\xi+\delta(\xi))\subset G\) when \(\xi\in G\) such that for any \(\delta\)- fine division \(|\sum_{\xi\in G}f(\xi)(v-u)|<\varepsilon\). Some theorems on integration of sequences are proved as applications.
