The method of the inversion of linear distributed dynamic systems is developed which allows one to conduct a qualitative study and to obtain an analytical solution of a certain class of inverse heat conduction problems. As an illustration of the general approach, the inverse problem of recovering the time-varying component of an internal heat source is considered.
