In this paper the authors generalize a previous result, concerning eikonal equations on topological networks, to higher dimensional ramified spaces. In particular they concentrate their study to the case of the so-called locally elementary ramified spaces which possess some differentiable structure. This allows to differentiate in the normal direction at the ramification points and suitably write a transition condition at those points. After introducing the notion of ramified spaces with several examples, the authors study their differential structure, give a notion of viscosity solution for Hamilton-Jacobi equations of eikonal type, and prove uniqueness and existence.
