The author studies functions which are piecewise in the null space of the operator \(D^{k+1}p(x)D\). These functions are used in projection type methods to approximate an isolated solution of singular boundary value problems. The author proposes an algorithm which can be used to calculate the related \(B\)-splines and their derivatives. An example is given to illustrate the usefulness of the proposed algorithm.
