The singularities of the wave trace of the basic Laplacian of a Riemannian foliation (Q868921): Difference between revisions

Spectral invariants of the basic Laplacian in Riemannian foliations [\textit{P. Molino}, Riemannian foliations. Boston-Basel: Birkhäuser (1988; Zbl 0633.53001)], the basic wave kernel and singularities of its trace [see also \textit{E. Park} and \textit{K. Richardson}, Am. J. Math. 118, No. 6, 1249--1275 (1996; Zbl 0865.58047) and \textit{K. Richardson}, Geom. Funct. Anal. 8, No. 2, 356--401 (1998; Zbl 0911.58040)] are studied. When the foliation has regular closure, the complete representation of the trace can be computed. Three examples illustrate the behavior of the transverse geometry. For such cases a better wave trace formula is possible.
