It is proved that, for every Herglotz vector field on a complete Kobayashi hyperbolic manifold, there exists a unique evolution family solving the corresponding Loewner differential equation. Moreover, for every evolution family \(\varphi\), there exists a unique Herglotz vector field such that \(\varphi\) solves the corresponding Loewner equation. [For part I, see the authors, Evolution families and the Loewner equation. I: The unit disc, preprint, \url{arXiv:0807.1594}.]
