The authors generalize a classical result of \textit{A. Bigard} and \textit{K. Keimel} in [Bull. Soc. Math. Fr. 97, 381--398 (1969; Zbl 0215.34203)] and \textit{P. F. Conrad} and \textit{J. E. Diem} in [Ill. J. Math. 15, 222--240 (1971; Zbl 0213.04002)], which states that the set \(P(G)\) of all polar preserving bounded group endomorphisms of an Archimedean \(\ell\)-group \(G\) is again an Archimedean \(\ell\)-group, with respect to pointwise addition and ordering. They first note that \(P(G)\) is a maximal pairwise separating system in \(B(G)\), the set of all bounded group endomorphisms of \(G\). They then prove that any maximal pairwise separating system in \(B(G,H)\) is an \(\ell\)-subgroup, where \(G\) and \(H\) are Archimedean \(\ell\)-groups.
