Let \(R\) be a commutative ring and \(A\) be a unital \(R\)-algebra. A higher derivation of \(A\) is a sequence \((d_n)\) of \(R\)-linear maps \(d_n\colon A\to A\) so that \(d_0=\text{id}_A\) and for \(m>0\) \(d_m(xy)=\sum_{i=0}^m d_i(x)d_{m-i}(y)\). If \((a_n)\) and \((b_n)\) are sequences in \(A\) satisfying \(a_0=1=b_0\) and for \(m>0\) \(\sum_{i=0}^m a_ib_{m-i}=\sum_{i=0}^m b_ia_{m-i}\) then the maps \(d_m(x)=\sum_{i=0}^m a_ixb_{m-i}\) define an inner higher derivation of \(A\). Similar definitions are made for Jordan (triple) higher derivations and for versions of these for generalized higher derivations, etc. The authors develop results about these objects for \(A\) and for some related matrix algebras. The triangular algebras of the title, \(T=T(A,M,B)\), have the form of upper triangular matrix rings with elements having diagonal entries in \(A\) and \(B\) and upper right entries in \(M\); \(A\) and \(B\) are again unital algebras over \(R\), and \(M\) is a nonzero \(A\)-\(B\) bimodule. For such a \(T\) it is equivalent for any sequence of \(R\)-linear maps on \(T\) to be a higher derivation, a higher Jordan derivation, or a higher Jordan triple derivation. The same equivalence holds for generalized, generalized Jordan, and generalized Jordan triple higher derivations.
