The Cauchy problem for the semilinear parabolic equation is considered: \[ \begin{matrix} \partial_t u=\Delta u+h(t)|u|^{p-1}u\quad {\text{ in}}\quad M\times (0, T),\\ \\ u(0, x)=u_0(x)\quad {\text{ in}}\quad M\times \{0\}, \end{matrix} \tag{1} \] where \(M\) is a smooth \(n\)-dimensional complete noncompact Riemannian manifold with metric \(g\) and negative sectional curvature, \(\Delta\) is the Laplace-Beltrami operator on \(M\), \(h(t)\) is a positive continuous function defined on \([0, \infty)\), the initial data \(u_0(x)\) is continuous and bounded on \(M\), \(p>1\). The author gives conditions for the function \(h(t)\) and the initial data \(u_0(x)\) so that the considered problem has nonnegative weak solution which blows up in finite time or exists globally. Also, the author provides conditions for \(h(t)\) and \(u_0(x)\) under which the problem \((1)\) has a unique weak solution.
