This is an addendum to the paper [Ann. Inst. Fourier 62, No. 6, 2347--2377 (2012; Zbl 1271.58014)] where estimates on \(L^2\) operator norms, \(\|\chi R_h(E+i0)\tilde \chi\|\), of truncated resolvents were proved, when both cutoffs \(\chi\) and \(\tilde \chi\) vanish near the trapped set. Requiring that only one of the cutoffs vanishes at the trapped set, the authors prove that, for \(a(h)\leq h^{-k}\), a semiclassical resolvent bound \({\mathcal O}(\sqrt{a(h)}/h)\) holds, if a bound \({\mathcal O}(a(h)/h)\) is assumed.
