In the article under review, the authors associate to an orbifold projective line \(\mathbb P^1_{A,\Lambda}\), via its derived category of coherent sheaves \(\mathrm{D}^b(\mathbb P^1_{A,\Lambda})\), a generalized root system \(\tilde{R}_A\) in the sense of Kyoji Saito. To do so, the authors first prove a result (Proposition 2.10) which associates a generalized root system to the derived category of a finite-type abelian category admitting a full strongly exceptional collection and satisfying certain assumptions and then use a result from [\textit{H. Meltzer}, Arch. Math. 64, No. 4, 304--312 (1995; Zbl 0818.16016)] which verifies these assumptions for \(\mathrm{D}^b(\mathbb P^1_{A,\Lambda})\). Using the equivalence [\textit{W. Geigle} and \textit{H. Lenzing}, Lect. Notes Math. 1273, 265--297 (1987; Zbl 0651.14006)] between \(\mathrm{D}^b(\mathbb P^1_{A,\Lambda})\) and the bounded derived category \(\mathrm{D}^b(k\tilde{\mathbb T}_{A,\Lambda})\) of finite dimensional representations of the bound quiver algebra \(k\tilde{\mathbb T}_{A,\Lambda}\) associated to the octopus quiver, a one point extension of the star quiver \(\mathbb{T}_A\), the authors obtain the generalized Coxeter relations for the associated the generalized root system \(\tilde{R}_A\). The authors furthermore generalize results for elliptic Weyl groups and elliptic Artin groups, respectively, to the cuspidal Weyl group \(W(\tilde{R}_A)\) associated to \(\tilde{R}_A\) and its cuspidal Artin group \(G(\tilde{T}_A)\), respectively, with the latter shown to be isomorphic to the fundamental group of the regular orbit space of the complexified Tits cone \(\mathcal{E}(R_A)\) associated to \(R_A\), the generalized root system associated to the star quiver \(\mathbb{T}_A\). The motivation of the authors relates to a conjecture in mirror symmetry. In particular, the authors conjecture that for \(\chi_A>0\) (resp. \(\chi_A<0\)), where \(\chi_A\) is a type of Euler characteristic associated to \(\mathbb{P}^1_{A,\Lambda}\), the complex manifold \(M_A\) equal to \((\mathcal{E}(R_A)\times\mathbb C)/W(\tilde{R}_A)\) (resp. \((\mathcal{E}(R_A)\times\mathbb H)/W(\tilde{R}_A)\)) is isomorphic to the space of Bridgeland stability conditions \(\mathrm{Stab}(\mathrm{D}^b(\mathbb{P}^1_{A,\Lambda}))\) and that the universal covering of the related regular space \(M_A^{\mathrm{reg}}\) should be the stability space \(\mathrm{Stab}(\mathcal D_{A,\Lambda})\) where \(\mathcal D_{A,\Lambda}\) is the smallest full triangulated subcategory of the derived category of the 2-Calabi-Yau completion of \(k\tilde{\mathbb{T}}_{A,\Lambda}\). They conjecture further that \(M_A\) admits a Frobenius structure locally isomorphic to the one coming from the Gromov-Witten theory of \(\mathbb{P}^1_{A,\Lambda}\). Their final motivating conjecture asserts that in fact \(\mathrm{Stab}(\mathcal D_{A,\Lambda})\) should be simply connected.
