The authors consider the system of differential equations describing the interaction between two populations of mosquitoes: wild and sterile ones \[ \begin{array}{rcl} \frac{dw}{dt}&=&w\left(\frac{w}{1+w+g}-\mu_{1}-\xi_{1}(w+g)\right) \\ \frac{dg}{dt}&=& \frac{bw}{1+w}-\left(\mu_{2}+\xi_{2}(w+g)\right)g, \end{array} \] where \(w\) and \(g\) denote respectively the populations of wild and sterile mosquitoes at time \(t\). The wild (sterile) mosquitoes have \(\mu_{1}\) and \(\xi_{1}\) (\(\mu_{2}\) and \(\xi_{2}\)) as density independent death rate and density dependent death rate respectively. A deduction of this model can be found in [\textit{J. Huang} et al., SIAM J. Appl. Dyn. Syst. 18, No. 2, 939--972 (2019; Zbl 1428.34066)]. The term \(\frac{bw}{1+w}\) describes the release rate of sterile mosquitoes while the term \(\frac{w}{1+w+g}\) seems to describe the number of mating per individual per unit of time. The main contribution of this note is an improvement in the study of parameter space. The previous result about the above model only consigned the existence of two positive equilibria. The authors made a deep exploration on the parameters space and found two new positive equilibria and carried out a local stability analysis.
