It is natural to ask whether a domain in \(\mathbb{C}^n\) endowed with the Kobayashi metric is Gromov hyperbolic. It is known that bounded strongly pseudoconvex domains in \(\mathbb{C}^n\) endowed with the Kobayashi distance are Gromov hyperbolic [\textit{Z. M. Balogh} and \textit{M. Bonk}, Comment. Math. Helv. 75, No. 3, 504--533 (2000; Zbl 0986.32012)]. Zimmer showed that a smooth convex domain in \(\mathbb{C}^n\) endowed with the Kobayashi distance is Gromov hyperbolic if and only if it is of D' Angelo finite type [\textit{A. M. Zimmer}, Math. Ann. 365, No. 3--4, 1425--1498 (2016; Zbl 1379.53053)]. The author shows that a bounded smooth pseudoconvex finite D'Angelo-type domain in \(\mathbb{C}^2\) endowed with the Kobayashi metric is Gromov hyperbolic. Furthermore, its Gromov boundary is canonically homeomorphic to the Euclidean boundary. The proof uses \textit{D. W. Catlin}'s estimates [Math. Z. 200, No. 3, 429--466 (1989; Zbl 0661.32030)] and \textit{E. Bedford} and \textit{S. Pinchuk}'s scaling method [Indiana Univ. Math. J. 47, No. 1, 199--222 (1998; Zbl 0907.32012)]. In particular, the author shows that a pseudoconvex domain \(\Omega\subset \mathbb{C}^2\) with the smooth boundary \(\partial \Omega\) is complete Kobayashi hyperbolic, if there exists \(\varsigma\in \partial \Omega\) such that \(\partial \Omega\) is of finite D' Angelo type in a neighborhood of \(\varsigma\) and there exists a sequence of automorphisms \(\{\phi_n\}_{n\in \mathbb{N}}\) of \(\mathbb{C}^2\) and a point \(p\in \Omega\) such that \(\phi(p)_n\to \varsigma\) as \(n\to \infty\).
