By a topological space is here always understood a Tikhonov space. If X is a space then \(C_ p(X)\) denotes the space of all continuous functions on X with the topology of pointwise convergence. The operation \(X\to C_ p(X)\) can be iterated. For an integer \(n\geq 1\) we denote by \(C_{pn}(X)\) the space resulting from X by n iterations of the operation \(C_ p\). If \(\lambda\) and \(\tau\) are cardinal numbers then \(A_{<\lambda}(\tau)\) denotes the space \(T\cup \{*\}\), where T is a discrete space of cardinality \(\tau\), * is the only non-isolated point and all sets of the form \(\Gamma\cup \{*\}\), where \(\Gamma\subset T\) and the cardinality of the complement of \(\Gamma\) in T is less than \(\lambda\), are neighborhoods of \(\{\) *\(\}\). Among other statements the author proves that for even n the space \(C_{pn}\times (A_{<\lambda}(\tau)\) is a continuous image of the product of the space \((A_{<\lambda}(\tau))^{\aleph_ 0}\) with a certain space which has a countable base.
