Linear Volterra integro-differential equations with convolution kernel and with periodic inhomogeneity are investigated. For their numerical treatment the authors propose collocation methods based on mixed interpolation (i.e., basis functions are polynomials combined with \(\sin (kx)\), \(\cos (kx)\)). Convergence is proved and the good performance is demonstrated at two simple examples. The authors also point to the difficulty of choosing the free parameter \(k\) in the basis functions.
