In the paper the authors study the left invariant Ricci flat pseudo-Riemannian metrics on solvable and non-solvable Lie groups. They use the idea of double extension to produce new examples of left-invariant Ricci flat metrics. They prove among others that every nilpotent Lie group with \(\dim C(G)\ge\frac12(\dim G-1)\) admits a left invariant Ricci flat metric, where \(C(G)\) is the center of \(G\). Also for a given Lie group \(G\), there exists a nilpotent Lie group \(N\) with nilpotent index at most \(2\) such that \(G\times N\) admits a left invariant Ricci flat metric. They also give many explicit examples of left invariant Ricci flat metrics on Lie groups.
