The paper is concerned with the exact boundary controllability for a wave equation \[ y_{tt} -(x^\alpha y_x) - \frac{\mu}{x^{2-\alpha}}=0 \] on the domain with a moving boundary \[ \{ (x,t)\in \mathbb{R}^2\colon 0< x < 1+ kt, 0< t <T \}. \] The assumptions on the parameters are the following: \(0\leq \alpha < 2\), \(\alpha\ne 1\), \(0<k<(2-\alpha)/2\) and \(\mu \le (1-\alpha)^2/4\). The authors use HUM and multiplier methods to prove the exact boundary controllability of the given equation with suitable boundary and initial conditions for all times \(T > 4/(2-\alpha-2k)\).
