The authors study the existence of a periodic solution for an equation of the type \[ (|x'|^{p-2}x')'+f(x')+g(x)=h(t), \] where \(h(t)\) is a \(T\)-periodic forcing term. The function \(f\) behaves as a power, while the retracting force \(g\) has a singularity at \(0\), which can be either attractive or repulsive. Correspondingly they have two theorems, for the proofs of which they use topological degree methods.
