\textit{M. Dunajski} and \textit{V. Sokolov} found in [J. Geom. Phys. 61, No. 8, 1258--1262 (2011; Zbl 1219.53073)], a general solution for a 7th order ODE, which has a 10-dimensional group of local contact symmetries and is unique with this property. This equation is known since 1904, by \textit{F. Noth} [Differentialinvarianten und invariante Differentialgleichungen zweier zehngliedriger Systeme. Leipzig (1905; JFM 36.0187.01)], and the authors of this paper call it the ``Noth's equation''. They show that this equation appears as a natural geometric condition for a certain class of generic 2-distributions in dimension five.
