The authors find sufficient conditions for nonexistence of global nontrivial nonnegative solutions of the system of parabolic inequalities \[ \partial_t u \geq \sum_{i=1}^n \partial_{x_i}(A\partial_{x_i}u)+bv^r, \qquad \partial_t v \geq \sum_{i=1}^n \partial_{x_i}(A\partial_{x_i}v)+cu^s, \qquad x\in\mathbb R^n,\;t>0, \] where \(r,s>0\) and \(A,b,c\) are locally bounded positive functions depending on \(x,t,u,v,\nabla u,\nabla v\). In the particular case \(A=b=c=1\), these conditions can be written in the form \(rs>1\), \(\max(r,s)+1>(rs-1)n/2\). These particular conditions are known to be optimal (up to the equality sign). The proofs are based on the nonlinear capacity method.
