An ordinary curve in \(\mathbb{R}^ 3\) is locally of order 3 near each of its points. In this paper, the author describes a class of 3-polytopes, which he calls ordinary, whose vertices lie on ordinary curves. This class generalizes the cyclic 3-polytopes, and shares with them the property that the total ordering of their vertices along the curve completely determines their combinatorial structure.
