This paper deals with the existence and uniqueness of the solution for the boundary value problem of a third-order mixed differential-difference equation based on Schauder's fixed point theorem. An approximate solution is given by using Picard's iterative methods. \textit{P. Wang} and \textit{Y. Luo} [Ann. Differ. Equations 11, No. 1, 88-94 (1995; Zbl 0824.65069)] presented a special case of the problem discussed in this paper.
