Allowing Riemann surfaces to degenerate by compressing certain closed curves, yields Riemann surfaces with nodes. This situation can be described in a controlled way in suitable spaces of deformations of Kleinian groups. In this paper, the author augments the space of extended Schottky groups, which is a complex manifold embedding in a finite-dimensional parameter space [\textit{N. A. Gusevskij} and \textit{N. S. Zindinova}, Sib. Mat. Zh. 27, No. 6(160), 65-78 (1986; Zbl 0621.30040)], by attaching carefully chosen boundary points of the embedded space in the parameter space. The resulting space is a domain and its points correspond to surfaces with nodes.
