The first part of this paper is a survey of recent developments of various curve counting invariants on Calabi-Yau 3-folds, which were conjectured to be equivalent in the sense that their generating functions become equal after a transformation of variables. It is an important subject arising from mirror symmetry and has been studied extensively by both mathematicians and physicists. This paper also proved the rationality conjecture of the generating series of Pandharipande-Thomas invariants. This paper could be read together with another survey paper by \textit{R. Pandharipande} and \textit{R. P. Thomas} [``\(13/2\) ways of counting curves'', \url{arXiv:1111.1552}].
