Main objects of this substantial monograph are semilinear evolution equations having the form \(u_t=Mu+N(u)\), where \(M\) is a linear and \(N\) a nonlinear operator. Equations of this form are arising very often in applications, for instance: nonlinear heat equation, KdV-B equation, nonlinear damped wave equation, Landau-Ginzburg equation, systems of Boussinesq equations, of Navier-Stokes etc. All these equations and many others are considered as examples. The central method of research is asymptotic expansion both in temporal and spatial variables. Since the asymptotic method is based on the Fourier transform, only the Cauchy problem on the whole space for all concrete interpretations of abstract differential operator equations is considered. The monograph besides the preface includes six chapters, index and list of references contained more than two hundred items. Chapter 1 contains preliminary results, in chapter 2 evolution equations with weak nonlinearity are under investigation; chapters 3 and 4 are devoted to critical nonconvective and convective equations, respectively, similarly chapters 5 and 6 are devoted to subcritical nonconvective and convective equations. The authors pay great attention to the so-called Sobolev type equations of the form \(Lu_t=Mu+N(u)\), \(L\) is a linear operator. They demonstrate all obtained abstract results on these equations.
