A generalized dihedral group is a semi-direct product of an abelian group \(H\) of order \(n\), and a group \(G\) of order two with its generator inverting the elements of \(H\). Following Soicher [\textit{L. Soicher} and \textit{J. McKay}, J. Number Theory 20, 273-281 (1985; Zbl 0579.12006)] linear resolvents are used to characterize such groups for odd \(n\). Explicit polynomials are given with dihedral Galois groups \(D_ n\), for \(n = 9, 15, 21\) and 25.
