The authors present a method for the numerical solution of a transport equation containing two scales, one of which is diffusive while the other is not. The method is based on a domain decomposition approach coupling the transport equation with a diffusion equation with an interface condition. Specifically the interface is considered to be diffusive with a conservation of the energy flux. Some concrete algorithms are constructed. Their convergence properties are discussed and numerical examples are given.
