Classical Goldie's theorem asserts that an associative ring has a Wedderburn classical ring of quotients if and only if it is semiprime and satisfies the maximum condition on right annihilators and on direct sums of right ideals. This has been extended in several directions. For Jordan algebras, the analogous result was proved by \textit{E. Zel'manov} [Sib. Math. Zh. 28, 44-52 (1987; Zbl 0638.17012); translation from Sib. Math. Zh. 29, No. 4, 68-74 (1988; Zbl 0673.17021)]. Continuing some previous work of the same authors [J. Algebra 174, 1024-1048 (1995; Zbl 0830.17015)], the Jordan algebras \(J\) which are local orders in nondegenerate Jordan algebras satisfying the minimum condition on principal inner ideals and without non-artinian quadratic ideals are shown, in the paper under review, to be precisely the nondegenerate Jordan algebras satisfying the maximum condition on annihilators of single elements and such that for any \(x\in J\), \(J\) does not contain infinite direct sums of inner ideals inside \(U_xJ\). Previously, a careful analysis of these latter Jordan algebras was carried out.
