This paper is mainly concerned with the problem of the distribution of vortices associated to the Ginzburg-Landau functional, both for minimizers and in the more general setting of \(\Gamma\)-convergence in this setting. Related results deal with the study of the renormalized energy, qualitative analysis of minimizers, equilibrium measures, or the case of multiply connected domains. The proofs combine variational methods, elliptic estimates, and a powerful asymptotic analysis.
