    Ausgangspunkt der vorliegenden interessanten und inhaltsreichen Arbeit ist die von \textit{R. S. Strichartz} in Anknüpfung an zwei Artikel von Geller und Stein eingeführte Radon-Transformation \(R_H\) auf der Heisenberg-Gruppe \(\mathbb{H}_n\) [cf. J. Funct. Anal. 96, No. 2, 350--406 (1991; Zbl 0734.43004)]. Der Autor stellt die Transformation \(R_H\) in den allgemeineren Kontext der sogenannten transversalen Radon-Transformation \(R_T\). Die Transformation \(R_T\) integriert Funktionen \(f\) auf \(\mathbb{R}^m\) über Hyperebenen \(h\), welche die letzte Koordinatenachse treffen, und zwar nicht nach dem Lebesgue-Maß\ auf \(h\), sondern nach dem Maß, welches durch die Parametrisierung von \(h\) als dem Graphen einer affinlinearen Funktion auf \(\mathbb{R}^{m-1}\) gegeben ist. Die Menge dieser Hyperebenen \(h\) wird durch \(\widetilde{\mathbb{R}}^m:= \mathbb{R}^{m-1}\times \mathbb{R}\) parametrisiert, so dass \(R_Tf\) als Funktion auf \(\widetilde{\mathbb{R}}^m\) betrachtet werden kann. Die klassische Radon-Transformation \(R\) sowie die Transformation \(R_H\) können durch \(R_T\) ausgedrückt werden. Der Autor beweist Beschränktheitsresultate und Inversionsformeln für \(R_T\) im Raum der \(L^p\)-Funktionen für den maximalen Bereich des Parameters \(p\). Eine Schlüsselrolle spielen dabei zwei Gleichungen, die zwischen Integralen von \(f\) und \(R_Tf\) bestehen. Die Integrale von \(R_Tf\) führen gemäß\ einer Idee von Semyanistyi zu analytischen Familien von Operatoren \(R^\alpha_T\), \(\alpha\in\mathbb{C}\), und deren dualen Operatoren \(\overset{*}{} R^\alpha_T\), die eine Fülle von Inversionsformeln für \(R_T\) liefern. In Abschnitt 5 gibt der Autor aber auch Inversionsformeln an, die nicht nur im Sinne der \(L^p\)-Räume, sondern sogar punktweise gelten, und zwar im Raum \(\Phi(\mathbb{R}^m)\) aller Schwartz-Funktionen \(\phi\), welche die Beziehung \[ \int_{\mathbb{R}} \phi(x', x_m) x^k_m dx_m= 0\quad\text{für alle }k\in\mathbb{Z}_+\text{ und }x'\in \mathbb{R}^{m-1} \] erfüllen. In Abschnitt 7 werden unter Verwendung des Zusammenhangs zwischen \(R_H\) und \(R_T\) aus den zuvor für \(R_T\) bewiesenen Inversionsformeln entsprechende Inversionsformeln für \(R_H\) gefolgert, sowohl im Sinne der \(L^p\)-Räume als auch punktweise im Raum \(\Phi(\mathbb{H}_n)\). Es wird sogar gezeigt, dass \(R_T:\Phi(\mathbb{R}^m)\to \Phi(\widetilde{\mathbb{R}}^m)\) ein Isomorphismus und \(R_H\) ein Automorphismus von \(\Phi(\mathbb{H}_n)\) ist. Wie vom Autor erwähnt, hat der Referent -- in teilweise etwas allgemeineren Situationen -- diverse Inversionsformeln vom Radonschen Typ behandelt, wobei die jeweiligen Transformationen aus unipotenten Gruppenwirkungen auf \(\mathbb{R}^m\) entstehen [cf. \textit{R. Felix}, Invent. Math. 112, No. 2, 413--443 (1993; Zbl 0798.44001)]. In diesem Rahmen wurden die punktweisen Inversionsformeln (5.12) und (5.19) der vorliegenden Arbeit im Raum \({\mathcal S}(\mathbb{R}^m)\) aller Schwartz-Funktionen sowie eine im Raum \({\mathcal S}(\mathbb{H}_n)\) punktweise geltende Inversionsformel für \(R_H\) bewiesen [cf. loc. cit. Satz 3.6 und Beispiel 4.4 sowie 4.1 und 4.2]. Allerdings ist \(R_T\) kein Isomorphismus von \({\mathcal S}(\mathbb{R}^m)\) nach \({\mathcal S}(\widetilde{\mathbb{R}}^m)\) und \(R_H\) kein Automorphismus von \({\mathcal S}(\mathbb{H}_n)\) [cf. loc. cit. 3.15 oder 5.1 in der vorliegenden Arbeit].
