Let \(F\) be a Riesz-Herglotz integral transform of a positive measure supported on \([-\pi, +\pi]\). Given an infinite sequence of interpolation points in an open unit disk and the corresponding points playing the role of the prescribed poles in the open exterior of the unit disk, the authors recall the definitions of a multipoint rational approximation of \(F\), a multipoint Padé approximant of \(F\) and a multipoint Padé-type approximant of \(F\). Using the error expression for the last rational interpolation the rate of convergence of this approximation is estimated. As an application the authors give the rate of convergence of rational Szegö approximation of integrals on the unit disk with respect to the previous measure.
