A compact line is called Valvidia if it is homeomorphic to a subset \(K'\) of \(R^T\) such that the set of all \(x\in K'\) for which \(\{t\in T; x(t)\neq 0\}\) is countable, is dense in \(K'\). The authors present three conditions sufficient for Valvidia compact lines, and they give an example that the condition of metrizability is not necessary. They show that the conjecture is valid, if the closure of the set of uncountable characters is scattered.
