This paper extends a method for solving scattering problems with a one- dimensional Schrödinger equation from the first and the second author [Comput. Phys. Commun. 43, No.2, 325-328 (1987; Zbl 0664.65091)]. The authors present a method for calculating the phase shift of the one- dimensional equation starting at a perturbation ansatz. A numerical example using the Lenard-Jones potential demonstrates two variants of this method. A comparison with results from a multistep numerical solution of Schrödinger equation concludes the paper.
