\textit{J.~Brundan} [Represent. Theory 12, 236-259 (2008; Zbl 1202.20008)] has given a description of the centres of the type \(A\) degenerate cyclotomic Hecke algebras \(H_d^f\). He has been able to show that these centres are the images of the centres of the degenerate affine Hecke algebras \(H_d\), of which the \(H_d^f\) are finite-dimensional quotients. The centre of \(H_d\) is known to consist of all symmetric polynomials in its polynomial generators. In the paper under review a similar situation is investigated for the cyclotomic Sergeev superalgebras \(\mathcal S_d^f\), which are finite-dimensional quotients of the affine Sergeev superalgebras \(\mathcal S_d\) studied by \textit{M.~Nazarov} [Adv. Math. 127, No. 2, 190-257 (1997; Zbl 0930.20011)]. Here \(f\) is a certain polynomial of degree \(l\). It is shown that if \(l\) is odd, then a result similar to the above holds; for \(l\) even, however, the centre of \(\mathcal S_d^f\) is strictly larger than the image of the centre of \(\mathcal S_d\). In both cases, the positive results yield a classification of the blocks of the corresponding algebras.
