The main result of the paper (Theorem~1) is a version of the first structure theorem for the space of ultradistributions vanishing at infinity (defined in terms of a weight function~\(\omega\) and a~weight sequence \(M_p\)). Mapping properties of the short time Fourier transform on Gelfand-Shilov spaces and their duals play an important role. Theorem~1 is used to discuss the structure of the \(S\)-asymptotic behavior of ultradistributions.
