    The author deals with a Burgers-type system studied by \textit{M. V. Foursov} [Phys. Lett. A 272, 57--64 (2000; Zbl 1115.35363)]: \(w_{t}=w_{xx}+8ww_{x}+\left( 2-4\alpha \right) zz_{x},\)\ \(z_{t}=\left( 1-2\alpha \right) z_{xx}-4\alpha zw_{x}+\left( 4-8\alpha \right) wz_{x}-\left( 4+8\alpha \right) w^{2}z+\left( -2+4\alpha \right) z^{3}.\) It is proved that for \(\alpha \neq 1/2,\) this system has infinitely many commuting local higher symmetries generated using a non-local two-term recursion relation.
