The authors identify a class of subgroups of the symplectic group \(\mathrm{Sp}(d,\mathbb{R})\), which they denote by \(\mathcal{E}\), consisting of semidirect products \(\Sigma \rtimes H\), where \(\Sigma\) is a vector space of symmetric \(d\times d\) matrices, and \(H\) is a connected Lie subgroup of \(\mathrm{GL}(d,\mathbb{R})\). It seems that \(\mathcal{E}\) contains all the reproducing groups, i.e. subgroups \(G\) of \(\mathrm{Sp}(d,\mathbb{R})\) admitting a function \(\eta\in L^2(\mathbb{R}^d)\) such that for all \(f\in L^2(\mathbb{R}^d)\) one has \[ f = \int_G \langle f, \mu(g)\eta\rangle\mu(g)\eta\, dg, \] where \(\mu\) is the metaplectic representation. In the paper the classification of groups in \(\mathcal{E}\) up to conjugation by elements of \(\mathrm{Sp}(d,\mathbb{R})\) and its MA subgroup are given for \(d=2\).
